Living Out Of A New Reality

“Cast all your cares upon the Lord and he will sustain you.” Psalm 55:22

This is the key that keeps us from being overwhelmed and gives us strength. In just one day so many different things may occupy our thoughts, worry and stress may try to have their way but when we choose to cast our cares upon the Lord they have no power over us.

And no matter what you and I face we can rise up in faith and live free from the cares of life.

Yes we all go through very serious things and have to make some tough decisions but when we choose to stay in faith and cast our cares upon the Lord we are blessed! We are free from worry and stress and we are living out of the reality that God invites us to live out of – as his children!

So let us be like little children today and allow our Father to take care of our cares. Ahh, can you feel the weight on your shoulders lift?! Do you sense his peace and joy filling your heart and mind even now?! He is so good to his children and he will sustain us so let us continue to cast our cares upon Him today for he really does cares for us!

Blessings,

John

Come Home

In college I used to “come home” for a good meal, time with the family and lots of love. There was something special about coming home, it was always refreshing and worth the drive!

As believers this world is not our home, our home awaits us in the world to come. But we can get a taste of heaven here on earth – it’s found by being around God’s people and in His presence! In Acts 17:28 the Bible clearly states that “in Him we live, we move, we have our being.”

So really our home is in Him! This is why we feel refreshed after church and sense our burdens being lifted while we gather and worship. May I be used to encourage you today in saying, “come home!” Whether that’s gathering with believers weekly or coming into the Father’s presence daily… Come home!

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Blessings friend,

John

Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best…

“Father, fill your children with your presence even now, bless them Lord! Let them find great peace, rest and joy in your presence. Strengthen them today in Jesus name, amen!”

Growing Up

Growing up I loved playing outside, baseball, basketball, football, hide and seek, going to the pool – I loved being wild and free. I enjoyed being able to do what I want when I wanted and I wasn’t the biggest fan of being told what do to. I loved doing things that I wanted to do and disliked doing some of the things I needed to do. I hated getting haircuts, flossing, going to bed early, eating my vegetables, you know all of those things kids don’t like to do.

Recently God has been speaking to me about “Growing up.” Learning to do things that are difficult, responding better when in conflict, doing things that need to be done before doing things that I want to do. At times it’s painful and I experience growing pains. But the maturity that is taking place is good and fruitful! I’m seeing greater health in all areas: relationally, financially, physically, spiritually, in time management and productivity.

There’s times I still don’t like eating my vegetables but I’m learning to “Grow up.” I’m removing unhealthy or unnecessary things from my life and I’m adding other things that are proving to be beneficial. I’m seeing more balance and maturity take place and I am actually enjoying it! I share all this to challenge you to “Grow up.”

So…

What is God is asking you to let go of?

What is God leading you to do?

What is God speaking to you about “Growing up?”

Blessings,

~John

“We are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” Ephesians 4:15

Grateful…

Today I am so grateful:

Grateful for life – just being alive and enjoying the simple things in life.

Grateful for where I am in my life and where I believe I’m going.

Grateful for all that God has done for me in my past and my present.

Grateful for the people that He has put in my life and blessed me with over the years.

And so I thank you God!

Thank you God for my family and friends!

Thank you God for all of the everyday luxuries I get to freely enjoy.

Thank you God for my health, for opportunity and provision.

Thank you God (for everything)!

What are grateful for?
Have you thanked God today?

Blessings,

John
